Stupid idea, I'd say. Stupid, stupid idea. It doesn't even have the semi-validity that wargames have (MoH, BF1942, etc) since the people who died on 9-11 were civilians. Aside from that, why would someone want to play a game about burning or falling to death? You don't even get to go around inflicting mindless violence on people like in, say, the actual UT games. Meh. Bad taste, and a pointless game, how pathetic.

Well this MOD if properly done could serve as a memory to the victims and try to portray the horrific end that some of them encountered and how hard and horrific it was for the survivors. But if it isn't handled properly, then it could end up as a horrible insult to the memories of the victims.

I think it is horrible to have such a game about the tragedy that just happened a little over a year ago.. To actually have people falling to their deaths and dying in fires, in the game, is something that I can't even think of. Imagine what families would feel like, having something like this come out only a year after one of their loved one's has died. For people to actually get money from a game like that is absurd.

I think its sad that someones always ready to cash in on someone else's misfortunes, says alot for us as a race dosent it.

Well on the surface this game reminds me of a PS2 game, I believe it is called disaster report, where you are trying to survive a natural disaster. From the trailer I saw I beleive it was an earthquake.

Beyond the surface this game concept is certainly insensitive to deep pain and loss felt by many people becasue of the 9/11 tragedy.

Eh its just a mod for a game.

Heard of "Counterstrike", "Team fortress"... all mods start off small, some get REAL big.

Mods should be considered games which are more easily availiable to the general public.

...and what everyone else said, it's just bad taste.

not trying to down what your saying, but you gotta remmember, alot of poeple who died in the second world war didn't wanna go and where forced by the government. the people in the two towers at least didn't have to sit in a ditch for many months waiting for some idiotic commander sitting comfotably in a nice warm safe house to tell them to go get themselves killed.....
just becuase they wheren't civi's...doesn't mean they where soldiers.....

also...although you all say its bad...i'd probably try playing it...if it wasn't built on the Unrealwarfare engine...man i hate that thing.....

so you think that in a couple of years, it's suddenly OK to make jokes about 9-11? In public? Here in holland, a couple of years ago an El-Al Boeing 747 crashed into some appartments in the Bijlmermeer. People made jokes about that event. They made small jesting songs about it. I thought it was sick. Making fun about the fact that several people lost their lives because of an accident and even more people rendered home-less because of it. Jesting about tragedy is amoral and NOT appropriate.

Censorship isn't the answer here. People must be given a choice between what they percieve to be right and wrong. Take away that choice, and you take away the concepts of right and wrong themselves. Let people play this game and decide for themselves whether it is apalling or not. I for one will not play such a distasteful game, but that is only my choice.
If anything, this game will send out clear signals to society as to who the real sickos that enjoy mocking people's suffering are.
