... Who would you say should star in it?

Im just curious, because I have always wondered this but never really had a message board to post it on and get some feedback (other than the Bioware one but I doubt I would get a good response).

So, if you were the director, would would you cast, what quests and subquests would you include and why?

We could of course discuss it, that's not a problem ;)

I agree, this would be a better anime then a movie. A series would be better, as each episode could be dedicated to the quests, like 1 for D'Arnise, and a whole bunch towards the main quest.

A series (anime of course) would be best, as each episode could show a quest. 2 or more would be for the major ones, and the smaller ones (fetch my illithium, boy!) would be less then one.

Honey, if there ever was a top ten list of frequent topics, this would be #6. (The other entries would include voice cast, mod install, favorite whatevers, how to defeat certain enemies, and Weimer's tactics mod.)

I still say that a live-action BG game would stink. A hand-animated film with bits of well-done CGI would be awesome. The movie would focus around the main plot and probably do one of the big sidequests as an Imoen fundraiser. Throw in a Nalia/PC romance and get the love interest thing taken care of, too.

</font>
There, there love, I wasn't being too serious. ;) I beg to differ about the combination of hand-animated and CGI. Usually that comes down to a very bad mixture of the two of them. My personal opinion, of course.

And as for anime, just picture Sarevok, or Jaheira for that matter, as an anime figure. Is it just me, or does that sound ridiculous?

Maybe not in Japanese animation style, but I think animated versions of the BG characters would work better than trying to cast real-life actors. I also think spellcraft sucks when it's CGI layered over a live cast.

I'm thinking animation on the level of Titan A.E., a mix of hand-drawn and computer animation. Incorporating the game art is also a plus.

And you pushed me to the 1000 mark. Now I have to change my sig.

Finally radioactive breakfast food, eh, Pirengle?

I've been converted to the animation camp, but it certainly shouldn't be an anime, for reasons stated above. It would work for some characters (Aerie comes to mind... Yay for huge eyes and huger eyedrops) but, like the reasons above, I just can't imagine the darker or more serious characters... Viconia came to mind first... drawn as anime characters. Jahiera? No way. Sarevok? Forget it. Irenicus? You get the idea.

Sir Degrader 01-06-2005 07:00 PM

In a word: Gargoyles. Realistic, NON bug eyed characters. Even Ghost in the Shell, an eastern anime, has realistic figures. I don't think that would be the concern (EVERYONE would agree that a hyper deformed Irenicus would look ridicolous).
