I come from playing the BG series and I am quite disappointed with the game (I play individually).

My game setting is to max difficulty, but so far (level 2 Ranger, level 2 Wizard, level 3 Rogue) it has been too easy. Not only this, I found it being to straight forward, just hack and slash.

I remember in BG where you faced a difficult party which was well balanced having tough fighters and devilish wizards. Finding the right battle tactic was the key to success. I can't say that from Neverwinternights so far.

Just wanted to know if anybody else feels the same and if this game continues to do so.

Personally I like the 3rd edition rules, they allow much more customization and development for the character. However, strange as it is, I hate the 3d interface. With BG the graphics were worse but you could concentrate on what really counted.

If you don't like the single player one, then make your own mod (not trying to be rude).

Don't forget that this game was originally designed for multi-player, at least I think its designed for multi-player.

Heres what our moderator said (I hope you don't mind Larry)

The NWN game is all about Multi-player ability. The single-player game was just a sort of example of the potential the game had...but the real money's worth aspect of the game is it's ability to play millions of modules online with friends. (Source: Larry_OHF)

I too think so-about the hack&slash

As mentioned above in my quoted words...as many will agree here...You have not played NWN until you have played it online in a module that a normal guy in his house built one night, to solve the very issue that you are having now, and think that this is as good as it gets. There are numerous mods that have no hack and slash aspect to them at all...and people just like you have built vast worlds to explore that will test your limits of perception, thought, and cunning. In fact, I am currently building a "non-violent" game for my wife to play.

Now everybody sing in unison! "Give Multi a chance! Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!"

Queue the lighter wavers! Now everybody do the wave! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I've never been any good making maps and using toolsets and stuff like that. Is there any site or something where I can get some modules to play around with?

Thanks, Decurion

P.S. Personally, I don't find the single player that bad. Sure, you don't havethe strategy aspect of BG2 but you still often have to find chinks in a mages spell protections and stuff like that. And like the other guys said, if you want party play, there's multiplayer!

You want a single site with what. This is NeverWinter Nights we are talking about. There are tons of places to download cool stuff. To start this off here are just two that are listed on Bioware own site.

http://nwn.bioware.com/downloads/modules.html

Total Modules at NWVault: 2311

Total Modules at NWN Stratics: 193

I had a link to a bunch of fan sites but not sure where that is right now. The top ten is a good place to start. I hope you have a fast internet connection and plenty of hard drive space.

the original intent for NwN all those years ago when they first started on it was a follow up to BG 1,2&ToB. they said you'd be allowed to export your char from Bg2/ToB into NwN, until they realised even if you set there Exp back to 0 and made them level 1 again, you'd have to let them keep there sats, and after tob you can get stats of 23-24. which was when they changed it to the mind numbingly boring single player quest it is today. mutliplayers okay but...not as much fun or addictive as some other online games (go counter strike, WOO!)

I just played "Lord of the Blight 1" and I have started part 2. What can I say. Very Little hack n slash so far in an hour and a half worth of gaming, but some of the tightest storytelling I have encountered in a game... period. It has a unique converstion system with real consequences for your choices. And the cutscenes....wow!!!

The builder also crafted an excellent camera system that is so groovy. It makes camera tricks like the opening scene in Witch Wake very easy to do. He uses this to great effect in his storytelling, raising the bar for cutscenes in modules.

Here is the modules:

Here is the camera scripting system:
