I read a couple of posts on here talking about setting 10 to 15 snares before a(insert tough creatures name here) appears, and you will almost kill them before the fight starts. I have an elf f/t at around level 18 for the theif and his set snare is 100%, but I can only lay 5 per day. How do I get to set more?

Rest, then lay some more.

If you have ToB installed though, you are only allowed to have 7 traps per area.

Do you get more traps with levels or with certain kits?

Dundee Slaytern 11-27-2001 03:03 AM

Bounty Hunter have more traps than other Thieves because they can set special traps in addition to the usual traps, but the highest level version of it sucks because it Mazes the enemy as opposed to outright damaging them.

Normal Thieves, Assassins and Swashbucklers gain 1 trap for every 4 character levels.

All Thieves and Bards can start having Special Ability Traps from character level 24 onwards( with ToB installed), they can choose one per level up thereafter if they so desire, but that would mean missing out on the other Special Abilities.

Whoa, ToB is sounding cooler all the time. What is a specialty trap(I can't even remember what you called it, I replied so fast)

There are three different types of Special Ability Traps.

Spike Trap: The most popular, attacks one target and deals 20D6 damage.

Exploding Trap: Like it says, it explodes like a fireball and deals 10D6 fire damage to all targets in its area of effect, targets must also make a saving throw or be knocked unconsicious.

Time Stop Trap: When triggered, a mini Time Stop occurs for the Thief/Bard for 10 seconds, this is very good for multiclassed Fighter-Thieves, Thief-Mages, etc... because they can do a lot of things in 10 seconds. ;) Not so good for pure Thieves, because they usually only have 1-3 attacks per round.
