After almost 10 years, the Wizardry series is back! The game hit the shelves this morning. I got my copy this afternoon, played for a couple of hours before I had to go back to work, and am already hooked!

So just wanted to let you guys know, I'll be seeing you in a couple of months (heh heh hehe) (j/k--I'll still be around and tending to duties, but I'll probably be a lot scarcer). You can find me in the Wizardry 8 forum, where I'll finally be taking up my duties as moderator there.

Have fun, and if you get a chance, drop in and check us out! ;)

Cheers,

Blind Prophet: it's a first-person view, fantasy role-playing game, similar to the Might and Magic games where your view is from the character's perpective rather than looking "over the shoulder". It uses different rules than AD&D, although the system is similar enough to where one can probably grasp it without too much trouble. Several different fantasy races, including Humans, Elves, Gnomes, Hobbits, Dwarves, Lizardmen, Dracons (a dragon-like race), Felpurrs (a feline race), Rawulfs (a canine race), Mooks (a "Wookie-like" race such as in Star Wars), and Faeries. Several different classes (standard ones such as fighter, cleric, ranger, etc., and some new ones like Gadgeteer (can invent magic items as the party travels).

For more info on the game, check out http://www.wizardry8.com/ It can probably show you more than I can begin to describe. ;)

Sazerac 11-14-2001 10:36 AM

From the official Wizardry 8 website, here are the system requirements:

Q: What are the system requirements for Wizardry 8?
A: System requirements are: Windows 95 OSR2, 98, or 2000; a 233 MHz processor or better; 64 MB of RAM, a 3D accelerator with 8 MB of texture memory, 4x CD drive; soundcard and mouse.

In short, a game that looks and feels absolutely gorgeous that still runs on older systems. :D

Cheers,
