OK I am Very new to the game, infract I am still in the first area of the game. Any ways, Iowen or whatever her name is got me out of my cell and I have gotten as far as freeing the genie. But Iowen still cant cast spells, when I click on the little spells button at the bottom of the screen all the spells are brown. I have tried everything that it said to do in that tutorial, but it still didn't work.

Well, is she wearing any armor? if she is, then she cannot cast spells. Only mage robe and elven chains allow a spell caster to cast spells while wear them as armor.
If she has used up all her spells, she will need to sleep to rememorize them.
