For those who don't already know, you get experience points for learning spells in BG2. So, if you wanna level up your main character more quickly (of course, he has to be a spellcaster), get as much gold as possible, buy as many scrolls as you can, dismiss the other members in your party (just tell them to stay right there), then learn the spells. Voila!!

one correction: only works if you main character is single, dual or multiclass mage.

Just let your priest cast protection from evil radus 10 on your party, summon demons whit gate en the other demon summon spells, kill the, and get free auround the 16000 exp http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Yep, that's the best way to do it. Besides, you can't write the same spell in your mage book twice. And since almost all of the shops in Athkatla sell the same, limited amount of spells, you'll have an increasingly hard time trying to find writable ones.
Just go for the summoning. (of course, spells like Gate require a caster with plenty of experience already unless you cast from scrolls)

Or you could steal them with a compent thief.

Isn't it amazing how these people find ways to get experience so quickly? In BG1 you had to kill something or complete some quest to actually get some experience. Now, in BG2, all you need to do is memorize a spell, or unlock a locked chest.. I'm still wondering why they didn't allow you to receive experience for making opponents retreat..

Well, mostly because of engine limitations. All real retreats must be scripted and therefore part of the quest.

Is it possible to steal ANY item in the game? % of picpocket effects it how? I kicked out Yoshi and pick Jan, he's a much better thief. It's much better to pick him in your team through the beginning of the game to have more xp for him.
