Hi, just popping in because I really need to know this ASAP and I figured this is the best place to ask.
Could someone give me a conclusive answer to the following question: Do British primary-school children have one afternoon in the week off? If so, on which day? In other words, could you give me the specified hours per week a child would normally be in primary school? Many many thanks in advance! |
casts mind back a long time ... the answer is no they do not have an afternoon off.
Primary school hours are about 9-3 and secondry or high school hours are about 9-4 BTW at 26 are you a little to old to go to school? |
No there are no afternoons off, 9-3 sounds about right, but schools can vary the times to a certain extent I think, but not hours worked.
This is true for the English system, don't know about Scotland or other systems based on ours. |
No afternoons off in Scotland either, although in some academys (aka secondary schools ) you get an afternoon a week off.
Primary school is 9 - 2.45 up to primary 3 , and 9 - 3.30 from P4 upwards as far as I remember. |
In my Primary school it was:
9-3.15 ( It used to be 9-3 for lower school, and 9-3.30 for upper, but they evened it to 3.15) Secondary - 8.50 (lessons start) to 3.20. Wish we had an afternoon off |
We're 8:30 to 3:10 here
|
9-330 for us, and we're based off a British model.
