Okay, so i'm after two things.
The first is the best/most serious name you've ever given to a character. (And for context, I suppose you'd better include what they were)
The second is the worst/funniest name you've ever given. (Should probably include class again here.)

i use beren for most of my male people (any class) and morwen for most of my chic names (any class as well)

Altriax for my gnomes

For a great name generator click here. It's especially good with Tolkien names. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

My own name, Ryan. I take my RPGs very seriously, actually I play them as myself... and then laugh my ass off in the process, but I never name my characters anything else... except when they are women of course... http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif I name them Athena, or Isabel.

The most silly name I ever came up with was Jokla, but only people here get it... maybe Memnoch can... http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

I always call my main character Azur. I've always used a male palladin as my main character.
The most stupid name I gave to a character though was Lor. Don't know what the hell made me come up with that let alone actually use it.

Darlon 10-17-2001 03:16 AM

The name of my 2 main characters are mostly Darlon a caviliar, and Sethron Giornatrion, an elven archer (with a VERY fast shooting rate, say like 3 or 4 shots per round http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif)

The silliest name I probably thought up of is Kelch, and I have no idea what made me come up with name.

I've always preferred names that are somewhat descriptive of the character. My two favorites are the two I'm currently running - Nocturne, a female half-elf blade, and RiffRaff, a male half-orc cleric/thief. My two worst/funniest are Atilla the Hungry, a male halfling barbarian, and L'il Big Dick, a male halfling swashbuckler (and ladies' man http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif ).

BTW, welcome to IronWorks!!

I always use either "Nebucadnezzar", mostly for mages, "Dacuben", usually for fighters, "Razzen", for thieves, Razzen Dac Uben, for any class, the Dac Uben is supposed to be a last name or title sort of thing, like Razzen of Uben or Razzen of the House Uben.

coolest name i ever thought up (p n p D&D, not baldurs) is Kanai Na'arok. he was a dragonlance character...red-robed wizard of high sorcery. na'arok is elven for ravenflame (his mother's family name)...he was a half-elf, his mother was a human, and his father was not known to him. na' is the flame part, and arok is suppposed to be 'raven'...so it kind of translates to 'flame of raven'.

the funniest name...this leads me to the memory of an in-game NPC that trux (a dude on this board) once made up when we were playing d&d....
Bonbar! (pronounced BONE-bar)
i had a laughing fit from hell when i first heard that.

hmm, the silliest for me was Yeoman Johnson, a generic name given to the redshirts in the away teams, that always got blasted right away on the original star treck series.

best would have to have been Zevin the Juggernaught, a gnomish fighter, of average str, and uncommon wit for a gnome (ie he was stupid)
