Is there a switch I missed to make the toad shaman's trap door open? Maybe something I forgot to ask him? Please help...

Try talking to the Shaman again. He opens up the trap door so you just must have not triggered it in your previous conversation.

had same problem with him until I said ukabu (had to type it in) to him . Of he goes into another spiel and the trapdoor opens
