The pillar that leads me to the waterfilled room in the pyramid has stopped elevating.
I havent reached anything in the room yet..

I tried the vanish spell but don't know what nearby surface is.
Lever stuck in room with the small door haven't found any key or keyhole.
Havent met an old guy either.

Okay, try taking the figure of Kerah off the altar and put it back on the altar and see if that blasted pillar won't come down again! (hope it will). After you've done the area above and returned the pillar will be stuck in the up position forever (unless a zillion roaches are in the process of being squashed by the thing) (hated that in lifts) (did have a lift kill a whole bunch of monsters once and given how long I had to wait for the lift to finally really go anywhere I felt I should have gotten EX for it too but NO!)

You have to get a light obelisk from the above the pillar area. There is a pedestal for the light obelisk and then you have to move a bunch of decorative obelisks around to redirect the light to the room with an altar upon which you need to place the ashes. When you have done that correctly you will get to talk to Anephas and a door which was previously unopenable will magically open! Wow!

It's no problem using vanish, but You have to be in the extreme north of the area with Leprechaun, when facing north there is a high probability that You land in the new area. Don't give up to soon, it worked for me.

When you say leprechaun area, Im not really sur what you mean.

1 Are you inside or outside the temple ?
2 Where exactly are you?
3 Can you enter the leprechaun area without meeting Kerah

Rincewind's suggestion applies only if you had only already gotten up the pillar to Kerah.
Have you tried using vanish? I have no idea if that would work or not, but given that the pillar doesn't seem to work correctly it's worth a shot. I hate seeing things like this happen because it's obviously something in the game going wrong - not something like you overlooked the chest in the corner which holds the secrets of the universe.

How many of us have to pray that they will make a patch before they do????
