It was summer. I was stepping out of my house with two crisp twenties in my pocket and my bike at my side. The sun is shining, the birds are singing as I ride down the road to meet my friends, then we go looking around the shops. Wot's this? Do i see a Baldur's Gate 2?!? I had played BG, but had thought the series scrapped! So I buy it, thinking it will pass the time when I'm bored.

Two weeks later...

My darkened room, sounds of battle raging from my PC and there I am, hunched over my computer with my eyes glued to the screen. I am hooked. I am addicted. My cold, dead fingers will have to be forced off of my mouse before I give this game up.
And, after the fifth completion, I step outside again, and for the first time since I switched on my PC I notice the sun. I go down to the shops with my friends, and we look around the shops. And wot do I see? THRONE OF BHALL. I feel a tugging in my hand, and involountarily I reach for the package. Then my legs are moving, on their own, towards the cash register. I pull out some hard earned cash, and then the world goes blank.

Three hours later.

My darkened room. Jan is pretending to Minsc that they have switched bodies in a futile attempt to steal Boo. I laugh silently.

And that was the last BG game in the Saga. Wot do I do now? I have forgotten wot I did before BG2! Why Bioware, WHY?

That happened to me in summer! I played five hours a day, SOA and TOB, and after one month I finished them. I was just like you.
And suddenly I found th Ironworks forum!! There I could help other users and make the game for them easier so that they don't end up like me and you.
I suggest you do the same! Help them don't end up like us.

Where there are monsters and barbarians there will be Byronas fighting against them.

I stepped right into the game when I borrowed it from a friend
( He never did get it back ) with the SoA expansion...I was totally hooked...
Then some months ago I saw the release of the second game...I bought it imediately even though I´ve never finished BG1 and SoA...Terrible!
I´ve started the game over at least eleven times...I´m a cronic re-starter and this time I´ve decided to start over for the last time...lot´s of saves this time to prevent stupid mistakes...
Ooooooooooops...SPOILER
like turning down Saemon Havarian and thus loosing the underwatercity Ooooooooooops...SPOILER

Yeah, I spose. Ah well, I'll just have to continue playing a great game. Poor me. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

things have just never been the same ever since i bought BG I.....then came BGII and all hope went out the window. ToB is just the very tip of my figurative Baldurs addiction iceberg.

at least, unlike coke and heroin, it isn't bad for you (except maybe eyestrain or a sore finger from clicking away.)

If anyone here wants to stop playing BG2 or BG1, just give me 15 minutes alone with your computer and I'll make sure you won't be playing BG1 or BG2 anytime soon.

ReGiN 10-13-2001 12:34 PM

Well, I was like that too, Horatio...but I found a cure....buy other games!!!
It helps....I felt really bad if I didn't play them and that actually worked..
when I hadn't played BG2 for like two weeks, I was "unhooked"...
thank god...now I'm a normal player who can contol my ex-addiction...http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/noncgi/smiles/338.gif

Yes, but then you'd be addicted to another game. And I don't have cash growing out my armpits, so I can't afford to buy games all the time. So wot it's left down to is I either continue playing BG and have a great time, or I buy a really cheap, crap game and have a lousy time ignoring BG. Wot wood u choose?
