The one boss in soa that kept giving me troubles was the demi-lich. Anyway, I have found a way to defeat this sucker before he even get one spell off (including imprisonment). In fact you do not even have to be a high level person to defeat him.

First of all, have Yoshi place several traps near the area where he first appears. Then place several traps in the top left hand side of the room. (Far enough where he does not trigger it when he first comes out.) The next part can be done several ways: 1) have two people wearing ring of battering 2) have ur mage cast simicran and place these people at the bottom right hand corner of the room. (complete opposite of where you placed your second batch of traps)
Then open up the tomb if you so wish. When the traps defeat his first form wait until he fully comes in the second one (he gives a little speach about u releasing him). As soon as this happens, launch both of the rings of battering to pin him to the opposite side of the room and let the other traps take care of him.

(oh yeah, this is one boss that you cannot fake talk)

personally i just liked to use a scroll of prot/und and hack at him till he dies

Here is an even easier way if you have Aerie... ...

Get a Thief to lay as many traps as he can at the spawning spot, then retreat the whole party to some corner... ...

Get Aerie to cast Spell Immunity( Abjuration) and equip her with Mace of Disruption, once the spell is casted, get her to summon Kangaxx. Kangaxx will appear and die... his second form will appear and that is your cue to get Aerie to start whacking.

Heh, heh... all in all an easy, if cheesy, battle.

Those ways to him are so cheesy you could make the swiss jealous :D

Well, if they're cheesy, please post a non-cheesy way to kill him!
I'm one of those people that has never killed him, so I would really like to have a few tips. :D

My tactic will be considered non-cheesy if you remove the traps part. Simply fight Kangaxx the Lich as per normal, use your Mages to remove his spell protections and whack him repeatedly with Aduzedge and Mace of Disruption.

To combat Kangaxx the Demi-Lich, just use Aerie in the way I described above.
