Not because I hate him, it's just that to dual-class you must have 17 or 18 in your new class's primary stat. He has 12 Wisdom. What's up here?

Call it BlackIsle's roleplaying. ;)

but along the same lines Minsc shouldn't be a ranger, as he only has 6 wisdom (rangers require a 14) although there is a funny dialogue with Jaheira about that.

Well, I'm making a new class, called the Justice Fist Berserker, that is an altered version of a normal ranger, but they can berserk once per day (Which Minsc can do), still charm animals (read Minsc's Biography, "affinity for animals") and can take +5 in any weapon he wants.

I think that fits more in line with his biography.

And maybe a penalty to intelligence due to his head wound.......

NOTE:

Drizzt "should not exist" to because:

1) Race cannot dual class
2) Has insufficient Strength to dual to fighter
3) Can use ranger abilities, despite fact his second class is a lower level than first

I can't remember the rest!

I assume you're talking about the 2nd edition version of him. and if you leave out the dark elf trilogy he's a legit character, the other stuff found there is mostly backstory to explain why he's a ranger, yes it's something cool you can do in the rules, but why would a drow become a ranger... good question, RA simply took some exceptions to the rules when he wrote a backstory for WHY Drizzt is who he is.

another point against him dualclassing, is that you cannot dual class from one warrior class to another (fighter to ranger as he did) or from one rogue class (thief->bard) etc..

Isn't it also true that only humans are able to dual-class? That would be another point against Drizzt.

edit: Oh, nevermind... It's always been mentioned. My bad.

and u guyz have never noticed the fact that korgan cant join ur party if ur good but some how he can in bg2?
i had a lawful good paladin and korgan is chaotic evil. they cant be in the same party, according to d&d rules, but heh? u cant win em all!

Morgeruat 11-27-2002 09:21 AM

i feel that's more of a roleplaying situation, you can always try and make him see the error of being evil (as Galadria has posted in regards to having Viconia in a party with paladins) after going through the game you know it's never going to happen but as long as you *try* to convert him away from evil i can see it working, for the short term anyway, but about the time he
