hello again, my friends,
i am glad you made it home safely.
i have now gotten the sword of mavin (began newly) and i am arrived in brimloch. but i have still some quests done for ishad nha. how can i get there without climbing through the dragons caves?
is it anyway advisable to get rid of a cursed item? i?ve got the wand of the old witch from the boogre caves and my sorcerer looses one point from time to time. not grave. or is there a hidden damage done?
i have used create portal (at the exit of the dragon cave). the call home always brings me to the last town i visited, not so?
thanks and have a nice day
mr

Getting close to the end, Megan...

The easiest way to get back to the southern portion of Ishad N'ha is to jump off a cliff. Or more precisely, to walk off the ledge towards Torin. Then you can run around to your heart's content, and when you're ready to go back, teleport back to that portal you created. In some cases, you may need to go back through Dragonspire if your portal fails, but that's rare.

And you're right -- Call of Home brings you to the last town you visited. And it does get annoying when you accidentally go to another town...

As for cursed items, I usually don't use them. They do drain your HP (which can be offset with an item of regeneration, like an amulet of life IIRC), but they do no permanent damage. Nothing is permanent.

1. If you come to the ledge leading from the dragon's cave to the Brimloch Roon from the Brimloch Roon side and if you climb the ledge a bit, you will pass a "cliff" between Brimloch Roon area and the Ishad N'ha area. You can jump down at the Ishad N'Ha side safely - you won't be too high. Thorin is standing a bit southeast from there. You will be sent to find him by one of the Ishad N'ha Bushi Dojo quest.

2. You'd better to organize your actions and do the rest of Ishad N'Ha together. Create a portal near the Brimloch Roon gates when you are about to do Ishad N'Ha quests. Then enter Ishad N'Ha area and go to the town. Now, Call of Home will take you to Ishad N'Ha and Teleport will take you to the Brimloch Roon gates. Therefore, you won't be too far from any locations in the Ishad N'Ha area and you will be able to reach Brimloch Roon whenever you will want to. Well, you cannot set teleports (unless you aren't playing solo) in the Ishad N'Ha wilderness but you can set teleports in the dungeons. After finishing Ishad N'Ha, return to Brimloch Roon by means of your portal.

3. IMO, equipping cursed items isn't a good idea. I have heard stories that they can leech not only your HP but also your stats! Well, I haven't experienced it because I am not equipping cursed items at all.

Torin is the samurai to whom you gave the dragon arrow, fulfilling the Bushi Dojo quest. Unless he was killed, that is...

Radek has given you a good description, and a better jumping point. I usually take damage :(

Radek's second point threw me for a moment with this:

Quote:

I had to think for a minute, but what he's saying is that since you can only have one portal per map, if you're playing solo, the portal by Brimloch Roon is the only one you can have in that map. You can have others in dungeons, but not in that wilderness map. If you're playing multi-character, and if you've got multiple characters who can cast Create Portal, you can create multiple portals. And as long as you don't over-write the one by Brimloch Roon, you'll be fine.

Good luck.

I also seem to recall that some cursed items have the effect of a disease - they can drain stats... Permanently.

Hmmm.... a list of those would be handy.

Anyone interested in doing some research?
