Ok, I have finally decided my topic for my English essay. I need to choose something out of our book, all of which are excerpts of important pieces in literature. I chose to do my essay over the story of Jesus giving his Sermon on the Mount, as related my St. Matthew. If you want a reference, it spans from 5:1 to 7:29.

Now, I definitely do not want to go against the moratorium, so, please, no discussion of religion here! I posted this, because I would like your opinions on what I should emphasize in this essay. My purpose is to explain this excerpt as simply as possible, so those that haven't read it will understand what is said. All help will be appreciated!

Note: If you feel you have something to add, but are worried that it may be against the rules, dont post it! If you wish to tell me, you can pm it. Thanks guys!

Bump

I'm not a bible man myself, sorry.

This thread will either become religious or sink to the bottom of the page. In order to avoid either possibility, I'll point out an alternative. Cliff's Notes. Yes, they even have these for the Bible. Now the use of Cliff's Notes isn't cheating, if you actually read the material yourself. When used properly, it is just a great study guide. Kind of like having a teacher offer their analysis. Good Luck!

Hmm. Well, my problem with this assignment, is that I'm supposed to explain "simply" what is said, as it is supposed to be a difficult piece. My problem is, I dont think it's difficult. This may be because I was raised catholic, and I know some things inherently, from that, dunno. Perhaps if someone here doesn't understand something about the passage, they could post some questions over it? I don't know if answering them is permitted, but they could give me a few ideas about how to approach this. Of, course no one has to do this, but I would be much obliged. thanks.
