OK...I NEED INFO FAST PLEAZ. I PUT IN THE CHEATS THING AND THEN I INSTALLED IWD PATCH V1.06 AND THEN I TRIED TO PLAY THE GAME AND IT SAID "AN ASSERTION FAILED IN ChDimm.cpp AT LINE NUMBER 582. PROGRAMMER SAYS: UNABLE TO OPEN BIFhttp://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gifata\GUImos.bif" AND THEN IT WONT OPEN. OK SO WHAT DID i DO WRONG???PLZ HELP.

I dunno, but i think you might want to try it again without the cheats.
i'm notr certain, but didn't they do osmething to cheats in that 1.06 patch? if anything, put the patch in first, THEN the cheats. otherwise, leave the cheats out. ::shrug::

Can't help you with this one, Sarek. But I wonder if the cheat codes did it? Never used them myself, though, so I don't know. Maybe if you uninstalled the game and re-installed it? Do you have HoW installed? I got a similar error when I mistakenly installed the IWD patch with HoW installed.

not if you only RE-instasll it. but if you UNinstall first, you'd better copy your "characters" and "save" or "mpsave" folders to the desktop. I never used cheats in IWD cuz i tried it in BG and had similar issues.

How far have you got in the game, anyway? If you are less than halfway through it may well be worth starting over again 'coz you have learned a LOT about how the game works, and how the characters behave, etc, so you can make better choices... ??
