You all realize of course that Gath could use his fists doing 1-2 damage, have an AC of 10, Saving Throws at 20, and Magic Resistance of -200%, and he could still insta-gib your characters?

Wanna know why?

Because he was programmed to do so, so that you, as a PC are unable to completely destroy the story arc from that point.

require your services to kill Bodhi's guild when they could send Arkanis and kill everything????????

This is (ironically) one of those areas where the plot breaks down in order to save the plot.

i tried recently and you can get any where, i smmoed alli culd includng 2 wyverns and they didnt ven injure him, so i think its a game deffault tat you cant beat him

There are not actually 2 versions of Gath, rather then 2 versions of his weapons. At the point where you are about to screw up the plot by killing some vital char, he will come with his meano sword and whoop you bad, as a lesson.

Lateron, when you are past that critical spot (and on Shadow Thieves side) he will come and have the 'usual' weapon. Being the curious person, I tried that sword. For a very short time, since it was super powerful and thus made the game super boring.
