I just rolled a new toon tonight, following a whole bunch of guild drama and the inevitable break-up of all that was cool and fun about it. I'm barrymanalow, human mage, on the bronzebeard (US) server.

Ultemicia - Level 70 Undead Affliction Warlock (42/0/19). 11k+ shadow damage raid buffed (not inc. other players buffs). 1k unbuffed. Currently raiding SSC, although not got Lurker down yet. Building up DKP for the remaining T4 drops. And Voidheart Crown just will not drop for me. But getting there. Got all of kara on farm, and maggy and gruul. But Lurker will just not go down...yet.

Lurker's awesome. Get under the water when he takes a breath!! Oh, and put sheeper and a fearer on each of the 3 islands to cc the 2 adds on each island.

Have you done Hydross yet? He's harder IMO, difficult tanking rotation between phases and adds.

Leotheras and Karathress gave us fits, but now Vashj is just a pain. Vashj is almost like the hurdle Razorgore was.... just so many adds and so much to time right, and everyone has to be doing their thing. Good times. :)

There's no point, we don't have the frost/nature resistance on our warriors and druids.

So atm, we are 10/10 Kara, 2/2 Gruuls, 1/1 Magtheridon.
None in SSC, 0/4 in the eye.

We could take Voidreaaver, but as the trash is changing there is no point just yet. We will wait til we progress in SSC, before moving onto the Eye.</font>

Throttbot look that up! Its a killer sword for Mages, Doodads, and Prot. Pallys. (Priests too)
It's a good sword for a Mage, but I have a staff in a tier that kills it.. :) Just looks so cool.

Why not just wait till S3 hits in a little over a week and either get S2 for cheaper or get the newer stuff for a little more.

Well that sort of is the plan - I must admit though that I dislike the feral S3 changes - the bonus healing from S2 was a nice touch and has been completely removed and replaced with combat stats in S3 :(

I'll get the S2 leggings when S3 comes out as like you say they'll be cheaper. That will give me the +15% movement boost which will be cool as it stacks with the Feral Swiftness talent :D

Timber is an inspiration to all of us playing WoW. From his humble noob beginnings to an uberleet wtfpwning 70 lock, he's an example of how perseverance can breed success. :D

As for me, I'm 57 and climbing, and I don't think my gear's too shabby for where I am at the moment - though I'm looking forward to dinging 58 and replacing all my blues and purples with Outland greens. :p

I got the game 25 December 2005. Played alliance for the first two months. Then Timber showed me the way.. That card takes a lot of cashola, so I preferred to rerun heroic SP instead until I got the Quag's trinket.

Here's the thing, though. I had the Quag's trinket equipped and you may have noted that my +spell hit rating was only 170. Now the astute raider would recognize that a raiding warlock vs. a level 73 or "skull" boss needs 202 spell hit. That would be what the Lock needs to get +16% hit vs. a boss that you have a 17% miss chance against -- the last 1% miss chance is unavoidable, so you shoot for 16%, which is 202 hit.

Now, I have a scryer's bloodgem in my pocket. That's +32 spell hit, bringing me up to the cap of exactly 202 vs. bosses, so until I get more spell hit on other gear, I'm obliged to use the bloodgem. It's also another "ouch" trinket that gives burst dps bonus. So, I'm using that for bosses. The only other one to replace would be the Silver Crescent, which is about on par with the Darkmoon Card.

So, point is that if I had that card I'd use it on trash mobs, but not bosses, not at this point. And trash is pointless, so why bother?

Now, the caster trinket from ZA, even if you're in MH/BT gear, that's worth going after.

And Burnzey, I well remember my Vicious Circle days. I have continued to run into the old VC crew. Most went to guilds other than me, some are notably in Apotheosis Now these days, and some are in Dark Talisman, including Stanislaus as a main tank. I raided with Hammsamwich in Night Haven and now I raid with Happynoodle in Black Death. I still have those level 30 screenshots of us "raiding" Stromgarde, though, and our "Guild Picture" pics from my first time in Blackrock Mountain when they summoned and/or dragged lowbies from all over for guild picture day.

Haha I remember when that happened to me earlier in the year. I had previously spent weeks running AV to get my Lobotimizer, then I got into Outland and got a superior dagger from a quest which took 5 minutes to complete and didn't involve killing anything!
