Hello everyone. Some of you may have noticed I haven't been posting much, not at all in fact recently. After changing my e-mail address in my profile, I have been unable to access the forum and consequently been unable to post. I've sent a couple of e-mails to the Webmaster asking for help and describing the problem but I thought, while I had the chance, I would make a public appeal on the forum aswell. I'm currently using someone else's PC at the moment and will have access to it until tomorrow so if anyone has had the same problem and knows any way to get past it that would be useful.

Cheers

You must prove it that the email is valid. It should have sent something not unlike a new password to your ne email.

Indeed, it has. But when I click on the link to the forum, it immediately reads 'the password you entered is incorrect' and nothing I click can get me past this stage, meaning I have nowhere to type my new password.

Did you try cleaning out the cookies and logging in again?

Blunderbuss 01-01-2005 01:58 PM

On the forum itself? I can't get past the screen and so can't get to the point where you can delete the cookies.

You can delete them in your Temporary Internet Files folder if you only want to delete those of Ironworks if you're running IE. IIRC there are 4 and they're all named something with ironworks and or ironworksforum so they're not hard to find.

In firefox you can go to preferences/options (depending on your OS), privacy and go to cookies there. Open the remove cookies thing and delete all those with ironworks/ironworksforum in them. Then you can try again.

Okay, thanks. I'll try that once I get home to my PC. If that doesn't work, and I really hope it does, then I'll try to get to someone else's PC again and check for any more ideas.

Cheers

someone else just had the same problem, clean out your cache.

Blunderbuss 01-02-2005 01:15 PM

Cheers Philip. I just got home and cleared out my cookies and now I can access the forum no problem.

I'm glad you got it working
