I've seen 18/34, etc...What does this mean?

Sir Goulum 02-14-2003 10:12 PM

Basically 18.34 strength. So, 18/90 is better than than 18/00. The slash just represents a decimal.

18/00 is the best you can get. Ogre power. It's 18/100.

Wrong.
If you roll 18 strength, you roll 1d100 for exceptional Strength. Basically, 18 represents 5 or 6 different levels of Strength. Higher number underneath is better.
18/00 is the best, because it means 18/100.

nah, then it would just be 18..... 18/00 is the best you can roll on a character that can't get 19
Wouldn't that be equal to 19 Str. though?

i allways thought the higher the second number was the better, except 18/00 is like the "truimp number" which is better than all the rest. lol maybe ive been totally wrong, who knows, i play casters mainly.

it's 18/01 through 18/100 but cause 100 doesn't fit(not in the game in all of d&d, it has to do w/ die rolls i think) it becomes 18/00 making 18/00 the highest possible. you can't have 18/0 str because that would just be 18 str. iirc in pnp 18 str means you can lift double your body wieght a reasonable distance, exception str(the backslashes) every number over 18 is another pound the character can carry. this isn't implement in bg2. they do implement the str bonus per certain areas. iirc, there are 3 levels which give different attack bonuses

No, 19 Str is a (hill?) giants strength. 18/00 is an ogres strength.
They are quite different.
