I have been asked to find a deep gnome boy in the Underdark at an unknown location. Where is this boy? Thanks in advance!

He is in the machine that releases the monsters near where you first appear in the caves. The machine has different buttons to push and each button releases a different creature.
One is a demi-lich, another is a mad wizard (I think) and one releases the boy.
