OK there stupid intelligence draining thing is really getting annoying. When your main character is a pretty dumb barbarian he soon dies, how do u stop them!!

you can use potions of inteiligence that raise your stat, so you can take more hits.

Do you have any clerics or mages in your party? Have them summon skeletal warriors (if high enough level) or monsters to help fight these creatures. This is one monster that I don't like to get that close to me. Use range weapons also. Keep chaotic commands handy. Good luck!!

Turn yourself invisible, sneak up on them and open up on them like a flood. Then turn yourself invisible and run away before they all react. Potions and Rings work well here.
