I know this is not a new topic. However, I would really be interested in hear your reasoning behind why a given spell(s) is(are) your favorite.

Even though this is my first post on this board I have found it to be very informative a not too revealing for those who do not wish to be spoiled. Well done Memnoch and Ziroc!

Welcome to the board onthepequod!

I have to admit that my favorite spell is Fireball. It is such a simple spell, but it has made many battles so much easier and since all of my characters have some level of fire resistances I can even cast it right in the middle of a tough battle and not worry (too much http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif) about frying my own team!

Magic Missle. Good for what ails you!

I totally agree.

One of my favorite spells from this game is Melf's Minute Meteors. The meteors hit any target and do more damage than Magic Missile; the spell itself does more average damage than Fireball (with a maximum of a mere 10d6). Other than that, my favorite offensive spells are Chain Lightning and Abi-Dalzim's Horrid Wilting and favorite defensive spell is Stoneskin. (speaking of defensive spells, have you noticed that the 6th level spell Anti-Magic Shell was conveniently left out of the game?)

The most distressing thing about practicing magic is the fact that even the most learned sorcerers cannot accurately describe what magic *is*....

Definately magic missile. I am currently playing a jester solo, and the magic missile saves his ass more than any other spells.

My favorite is haste, it can turn the the side of a battle. I also love insect plague(what a mage bugger).
