Is the "romance" an option in the game or is it found in a patch? I've seen several references to it. What is it exactly?

SOrry for the broad questions, but I bought the darned game two days ago, installed it last night, I teach tonight, so the first chence I have to begin it will likely be tomorrow night!! It's like having Christmas presents I don't have time to open...

TIA

when you play the game, you'll see what is meant by romance. But for the widest selection, choose a human protagonist http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

What he means is, there are these pre-scripted dialogues that happen at certain times between your character and one of the NPCs. These pre-programmed dialogues concern romance. That is to say, the NPCs either come on to your character or let it be known that they would welcome your "advances."

The romance is a "series" of these pre-scripted dialogues that happen at pre determined intervals.

Its all perfectly PG and you don't see any naughty bits.
Although, if you are not expecting it, it can be very very surprising.

When Anomen gave my two-handed sword swinging female barbarian character (Str 18/95) Chr 9(before modification with ring of human influcence) a flower and talked about what a delicate bloom she was, I gaped with disbelief and then fell off my chair laughing.

Also the script kicked in at some really urgent time in the game where most of the party was badly injured, the dungeon was full of nasty wandering monsters and all the potions were gone. We were skulking about urgently looking for a place to hole up and lick wounds...

And there he was, taking the PC aside to talk about sunsets and stuff....

Each character's romance is different. For example Aerie is so cute, sweet like an angel you have to be kind and polite. Victoria is a drow woman so her romance is a little bit different http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif))

Poor females! There's only one person that you can have romance, and the worst of all..

This guy is

Anomen!!!!!

Stupid anomen
