Spoiler???........
. . . . I just tried this ability for the first time. I've had my character gain it a few times, but they were always good characters and I didn't want to mess up the roleplaying side of it. Now I'm going solo with a Kensai (dualed at 13th, that way my attacks went from 3/1 to 7/2), thief (lvl 11). I forgot to clear out the pocket of kobolds in the sewers. I'm thinking excellent time to test out the vampire abilities. As soon as I used the ability, I lost 15,000 gold http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/noncgi/smiles/mad.gif on the plus side, I'm immune to normal weapons, regenerating, have resistance to cold, slashing, crushing, piercing, missile, and magic damage. 24 str, 22 dex, 18 con, 7 int, 20 wis,22 cha, I hide in the shadows, proceeded to splat the leader (rashska sp?) unequip my weapon (to see if the level drain works..it does), kill a couple of critters..fail a throw against entangle..http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...s/confused.gif splat a couple more..fail a throw against hold person http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...s/confused.gifhttp://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...s/confused.gifhttp://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no.../angryfire.gif wait a couple minutes while the weapon ineffective message scrolls, then promptly fail a throw against charm person http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no.../angryfire.gif game over. Is this the most pathetic ability, or was this a fluke battle?http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...s/confused.gif I don't think a group of kobolds should EVER be able to beat a vampire in combat. I could have walked in and demolished them with my character, but I didn't though did I. Any thoughts? |
I would just like to ask how you got the vampire ability, because I'm kinda new to the game and dont know how,I would think a vampire would be able to clear a few koblolds and rakshasha but that is a very frustrating room and I'l lost a good few high level characters there, thanks in advance.

I wasnt awear you could become a vampire, I thought you should tho. In daggerfall you can, you can also become a werewolf if you want(I think) Daggerfall is a very great RPG, and I'm just about to get it back form my freidn and play thru it a few more times.

I also wasnt aware, anyone that can, please enlighten me

He may be reffering to the inate ability or spell 'Vampiric Touch'.

Hey Horatio my friend
|
not vampiric touch - that dosent change you stats or anything. (in fact, most time it dosent do anything at all)and i dont think its slayer change, cos that would just munch thru kobolds. maybe a ToB high level ability. if my manual still existed id check it. sigh.
daggerfall is overrated - the combat system is just so unwieldy. mind you i was playing below min specs but if i can get thru quake on nightmore below min specs i should have been able to splat a bat a bit better that i did. and yes, i did practise and had skills for my weapon etc. however the sequel promises to be a tiny bit better. hopefully. |
I have ToB installed, but I'm still in Chapter 2 of BGII. I've
had the ability pop up a few times but never used it. My char. picture changes and everything. I get the abilities, regeneration, etc. But overall I wasn't impressed. Don't ask how I got it, but I did. No cheats, no shadowkeeper, nothing. This is the first time I've tried it solo. |
?????????????????
hmm did you install a custom kit? |
I don't remember doing that. I installed the bonus merchants
and the patch to correct the number of attacks. Maybe I did and don't remember it though. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...s/confused.gif |
