WHat the hell is the deal with the horrid plant-like creature that attack you from nowhere, and wipe my whole party out so fast that I am not even able to see what the damn' things are called ?!?! Anybody knows what I am talking about? They appear in the area reachable from the west door in Ishad N'ha, while I trying to make my way peacefully to the ruins and haunted castle. This happens after I finished the serpent temple, so my party is around levels 8-9. Any hints/spoilers/suggestions? I've been trying for the last hour to at least TOUCH one of these monstruosities, but as I said, things happen so fast that I am not even sure ehat they are called.

Yeah, I've had the same prob, except I didn't know for a long time what was wiping out my party..just a blaze of fire and ZIP, toast. Thanks for making a game where you HAVE to adventure at night...how stupid is THAT! Anyway, I finally waited for dawn, (wandered around the house while the game was paused until sunrise (sheesh!)) and saw the whatzit-mankiller plant. I killed it by running to just within visual range, shooting off a few spells (fire works well) and backtracking while the s.o.b. burned. It works! And worth a tidy bit of exp too!

Thanks, I'll give it a try. ANd by the way, my first encounter was also at night, while battling some rat brigands. Thought at first that the wimpy guys hired some powerful wizard to do the dirty work for them or something!

Me too! If any of the Heuristic guys read this forum, they might try adding a "camping" option to pass the time at night quickly. I don't wander at night anymore in new areas...just suicidal doing that!
