Will someone American explain to me why the Boss of Enron can plead the Fifth Amendment so he doesn't have to explain where everyone's money has gone and the company collapsed?

Is anyone in American allowed to plead this?

Seems a lot of normal hard working people have lost a lot of money they invested in "their" company........seems shitty that he is allowed to not say anything...

<font color=skyblue>All I know about that amendment is that the law protects anyone from having to convict onesself. Just like in the rights that are read to a person when arrested. "You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of Law." His lawyer probably told him that was the best thing to do.

But in my eyes, it is like a silent confession. If I was innocent, I would not be remaining silent. I would be screaming at the top of my lungs, and answering all questions as best I could.
