I seen some people posting 'bump' on the message board? What is this and why are they doing it?
|
After so many people post a new topic, the older topic fades down to the bottom of the page (list of topics) and then further to back of the list of pages. When someone replies to a topic, it moves it closer to the front, allowing more people to quickly see the topic, since many don't dig through thirty pages of BGII forum daily (although some do it seems).
If somone wants to help move a thread closer to the top, and they have nothing useful to say, they might just write "bump" so a reader will know they are just helping to keep the topic alive, and aren't really mentally impaired or are having trouble keeping on topic. |
Thanks!

Of course, if it bombs a few times, you might just have to put up with it. http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif ------------------ http://www.angelfire.com/anime2/memnoch/genwalk.gif http://www.angelfire.com/anime2/memnoch/memname.GIF |
With the number of request threads for Kangaxx and Firkraag, that would make sense. The "search" option should pick those up though
