Ok I've never done this before but I'm sure someone has. If I play as an evil character and I just murder all the NPCs does that really effect the game??

If you mean all the NPCs that can join you, no. It doesn't affect the endgame. It will affect the game in that you'll miss a lot of side quests that can give you XP, as well as make the game harder for you (unless you like the challenge of soloing).

maybe ill do the side quests then kill the npcs, i was going to be an evil character anyways, and i was planning on soloing
