This question relates to the first Ranger stronghold quest. If you don't want it spoiled, stop reading.

My Ranger recently prevented a rather uppity noble from committing deforestation. I briefly tried the option of keeping the Mithril Amulet instead of accepting his money, but I reloaded and chose another option when nobody offered cash for it. (The Umar Hills townies didn't seem interested in the object.) So, does anyone buy the mithril or does it just make a nice ornament for a bird's nest?

It just makes a nice ornament for the nest. It is a quest item with no use for you at all.
