How can I set it so that the Transfers tab doesn't pop open every time I download a file? I'm pretty sure that there was some option to set it to open on the background or not at all, but can't seem to find the setting.

What? None can help me? I must say I'm somewhat disappointed.

I think it's because most people use Firefox instead of Opera, and at a quick glance, I don't think it's a way around it. Still, it IS a rather minor issue unless you're downloading 50 files in a row or some such.

Maybe I should try Firefox again. Does it support mouse gestures?

Ain't got the faintest clue, but supposedly the latest version is rather buggy, at least that's what I've heard from everyone, you may want to consider a slightly older one if you can get it. I've heard no good things about it.
Generally I've just found everything about Firefox's interface to be unpleasant, from tab managing to the option menus. |

The middle of the General tab has a dropdown menu for handling popups... allow|background|block unwanted|block all etc. |
Does the transfers tab actually count as a pop-up, though? And if he tells pop-ups to pop into the background, it'll mean that he's not blocking unwanted pop-ups but merely directing them there.
At least, that's what I'd assume from the wording of the options. |
Open up the transfer tab then just click the 'view' button next to the 'stop' and 'retransfer' buttons.
You can set it to never show, open in a background tab or open in foreground tab. It was added by popular demand a few versions back. Purple is correct; as the transfers window is a fully fledged tab and not a pop-up, it won't be caught by the pop up blocker. [ 01-04-2007, 10:33 AM: Message edited by: shamrock_uk ] |
Thank you! I knew it was there somewhere.
