Ok, I'm trying to download a file, to help me with some work for my job, BUT -
Even though it says the file has 180 sources, it harldy ever downloads. I think this is because people are uploading from me, is there any way to turn this off like with Kazaa? Is there any way to force the download? Or anyway I can resume the download Shareaza has done with another program, cos im 230mb into it, out of 520. Any help would be appreciated! |
Perhaps your participation level is too low?

Shareaza has a participation level?!? Argh, that's probably why I'm in the same spot as Lavindathar. I've got something on 99.93% and it hasn't budged for months!

As far as I am aware, Shareaza doesnt have a participation level....and I uploaded 500mb today, so I very much doubt thats a problem!

Upload can slow down your download if too much of your line is saturated by it.
As far as I'm aware, this is only a problem with Cable. I think the number of people downloading from you affect your popularity in the download file, the more there are, the higher you rank. But don't quote me on that, I only tried it a weekend before deciding it sucked. [ 08-21-2004, 06:41 PM: Message edited by: Luvian ] |
Well, it did the last 300mb tonight, it was in a good mood!

Hmm I don't use Shareaza, I use Ares. Looks the same as Kazza but alot more stable and easy to use. You may want to try that program out.

Well, I'm up to bat and will say that Bittorrent is the best filesharing program there is right now. Use the Azureus client; it minimizes like Kazaa and usually has a far, far better download rate than Kazaa and the like. However, you must upload as you download. |

network. It does however have a anti-leaching feature for the edonkey2000 network. This is because the ed2k network insists that all clients using the system have this feature. Right now the ed2k network is probably the largest network around (since kazaa started having all their difficulties), so it is the best network to find any large rare files. More popular smaller files tend to transfer rather quickly through the G2 and Gnutella networks. |
