'Nother one bites the dust.

Damn.

Well, I just got TOEE and guess what! It doesn't install from the CDs properly. Apparently I have to copy all the files to my hard disk and THEN install to get it to work.

Installation from a disk should be a basic requirement. These companies need to stop rushing through games that aren't yet working and spend a little more time testing so that when they hit the market they're worth my money.

I'm sure once I get it installed, I'll enjoy the game, but I shouldn't have to be monkeying around and installing patches just to get it to play.

Didn't they already die?

I'll shed a tear for the loss..

ToEE is basicaly a good game if you can see past the bugs, or are lucky enough not to run into them.

Same goes with Bloodlines, great game that got rushed at the end..

They all get rushed these days. Let's just hope all these companies dies soon.

Why all the rushes then? What's the benefit for the gaming studio's to bring out a rushed game? The only thing the public will be is disappointed when you say the game will be delayed for so and so long.
If anything, they just need to be careful with the release dates. Don't tell everyone too soon, it's as simple as that.

Q'alooaith 02-24-2005 04:17 PM

But there is the crux of the problem..

People want to know the release date, no date and people thus ask again and again..

Pushing back release dates can also kill a product, because the more you push it back the higher the expectations..

Luvian 02-24-2005 06:12 PM

Then don't tell anyone you're working on a product until you are 100% certain you can release in the next 6 months.

But let's be honest, games get rushed because the bosses don't want to pay more wages than needed, and just want fast money.

Another one? WHy? Is this a new kind of fad?
