I... I just can't choose...

This is just too much...

They're pretty hilarious. You've gotta wonder what they could have been doing (administering roads, schools, whatever) instead of coming up with this stuff. Some people's children, eh?

Although I'm not sure #1 was that ridiculous. We have a similar one with rats here in Alberta, because of agricultural concerns. We have no wild rats in the province.

So that means I'll have to ditch my seaweed collection?

Number 9 is just ridiculous (most of them are, but #9 is pretty bad).

All except 7 is ridiculous. the number 7 is quite similar to one we have here.

I like #10 regarding margarine vs. butter. This goes to show how silly legislatures can be. Wisconsin is a dairy state, so its legislature strives to preserve the integrity of dairy products -- of which margarine is not a member and butter is.

The whole discussion of stupid laws proves why I think that a super-majority vote should be required to pass any law -- it makes it much more likely that only really needed laws are passed.

Perhaps the biggest flaw in our system is that it is easier to pass a law than it is to remove it from the books. Over time, simple math tells us that an infinite number of laws will be passed -- certainly too much of a burden to place on citizens who wish to abide by the law.

seven takes the cake, its just too......uh....funny?

Can't remember where, but there was a law that it was illegal to walk on the sidewalk with an ice cream cone in your pocket on a Tuesday. Now if I could just remember where that one came from.

Number 7 is awful! How the hell am I supposed to ever get laid if and when I move to Mississippi if I can't make fake marriage proposals??? ;) It's cruel and unusual man!
