I'm soloing a cleric/mage ...
lvl 12/12 or something now, and i'd like to go beyond the XP-cap, which is lvl 14/14 .
But i DONT want a lvl 25/25 cleric/mage, i want the XP-cap to let me progress to an allround lvl 17/18.
So .. Can you set your own Xp-cap, or is it only a
remove/not-remove thing ??

hey. good question. go to ironworks and download the experience cap remover. just unzip the files into your baldurs gate1/2 override directory and vualeah!no xp cap.but i think you have to keep growing levels with both classes. sorry.

The file can be edited with notepad. Just alter the values to whatever you want...

If you're a multi-classed cleric mage, that means that you'd have to change the value to around

6,000,000 which would give you:
mage - level 18 max
cleric - level 21 max

But you can figure out all that for yourself, I guess...
