just wondering, does anyone here use RHLinux? if so, does it need it's own shareware programs as other UNIX/LINUX based operating systems do, or can it run *games* from other operating systems (ie windows and mac classic/OSX). Be prepared for a followup question if the answer is yes!

You can get lindows for linux which is pretty much a windows emulator. You run a windows over your GUI and that will run games but (although I can not be 100% certain) I'm pretty sure that you cannot run windows games on linux. You just have to get the linux versions if and when they are available.
On the other hand. I started off with Red Hat Linux and moved on to Mandrake. Personally I find it a lot easier to use and much more user friendly but that is just me. At the end of the day, to each his own I guess. |
WINE is a Winblows emulator that is freely available. You don't need a specific distro to run any Windows emulator. Just install with your favorite. Some programs have trouble running under emmulation, but most work just fine, even games.

I'd like to add to Night Stalkers comment, that there is a version of WINE called TransGaming WineX that is specifically made for running DirectX games. Works great, I have personally used it for playing Jedi Knight II under Debian 3.0
