Miserable Employment Situation in the US

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-11139960

It's not like the countries of Europe make less money per capita or are less productive than us in the US. Indeed, they are quite on par.

But they are able to pay more livable wages and work their employees 20 less days a year. IMO, there's an argument that this means they are more efficient and productive than us in the US.

Anyway, the article I linked is about how they get guaranteed vacation, and we are just worked to the bone year round.

True TL,
Y'all work too hard down there. It's almost criminal. Employers need to be made aware of the value of giving an employee more time off.

Very little vacation time. Bosses guilt-trip you for taking the vacation time. And then while you're actually at work, they lean on you for every little thing.

I hear your Firestormalpha! We have admins at my work who think people who are sick shouldn't take sick leave they've earned! Imagine how the feel about vacations... yet I know some people who are amazed when they visit from Europe- several of them have 5-6 weeks vacation a year guaranteed.

The only thing worse than miserable employment is unemployment...
