I swear, I will never buy another American car!

What a piece of crap this thing is.

1999 Pontiac GrandAm GT

In the first 8 weeks of ownership...was in the shop 5 times for a total of 6 weeks to get the air conditioner to work.

Windshield Leak's X 2
Water pump broke..X 1
Electrical Panel shorted out X 2
Interior lining pulled loose X 5
Alternator Died X 1
Battery developed internal short X 1

I expected better for $21,000+

Oh and I have only owned this for 4 years

Im buying a Bmer next time...or possibly a Lexus.

Hondas do have a great rep. I got stranded withing the first month of owning my RAV4 -- alternator busted while on I90 moving from NY to IL. :( No probs since then, and Toyota fixed it for free and begrudgingly paid my $500 tow bill (towed it back to Syracuse, NOT the nearest station). Nothing but smooth sailing since then -- and some alternators just come off the line bad.

After owning a Z24 as my first car, I vowed never to buy USA again. My main problem is that I want a car designed to run 200K miles before major problems rather than one designed to run 90K miles. So, unless it's a Corvette, and H1 Hummer, or a classic old car (boy, those were GREAT), then no more Detroit iron (erm... plastic and fiberglass) for me.

Thats my assessment as well TL> My battery light came on this morning on my way to work...at lunch time it died just feet from a dealership....fortunately I could get it repaird...unfortunately they don't take my credit card :( Now have to wait till tomorrow to get the thing back *sigh*

I have a 2003 Toyota Corolla and I LOVE it!!! Although part of that may be because my last car was a 1990 Chevy Blazer that was in the shop every other month (not kidding) and only got 18 miles/gallon maximum.
