Is it just me, or some spells in BGII from the first BG lost its flavor. Like in SoA, MIRROR IMAGE isn't that good, and it gets crappier in TOB.Wut do u think.

It doesn't get crappier, but you encounter much stronger foes, so some of the simpler spells like that won't be doing much harm as they would have in earlier stages. Even if those spells get better with every level you rise... http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

the loss of efectivness of some low-level spells is inevitable - with the lower thacos and higher attacks of course mirror image is going to become less useful(altho it look much nicer in ToB, dontcha think?. and with the higher resistances the awesome chromatic orb (i think. that low level one that has a different effect for each level) becomes quite, quite useless.

conversely, with the high resistances (and sequencers) the many shots of magic missile can prove decicive whe you HAVE to disrupt a mage, and acid arrow is often the only way to quickly put apellcaster out of commision.

and of course some spells just get replaced by higher up one - does anyone manually cast Cure Light wounds anymore? i know i dont.and Storm of Vengeace replaces cloudkill. Holy Smite can replace fire-ball, esp since it only hurts evil chars.

Oh, i love magic missle, it's never lost its flavor. But now with stoneskin, and flameshield, its just gone, and simicrulm, and mislead, my contigenicies, and spelltrigger rule!!!!!!

Is solo that if left so, the spell most strenght will haven´t beatiful.
