Re: Gary Gygax, 1938-2008
I just read this; I knew he was having serious health issues but he was active right up until the end. He would often post over at EN World forums.

Yeah, it is a sad day indeed. He helped create one of my favorite games ever, been playin D&D since I was ten years old, and I'm going on 21 now.
Rest in peace Gygax |
Re: Gary Gygax, 1938-2008
May he rest in peace. The gaming world owes a lot to him... the man who made it possible for others to ask, "What do you mean, 6-sided dice? What other kinds are there?"

A hero and inspiration. I have more books with his name on them than any other. Saying "thanks" and "you will be missed" just doesn't seem like enough...

Re: Gary Gygax, 1938-2008
I actually just found out by reading the latest OOTS comic... :(
He's done so much for so many gamers. So many hours of my own personal entertainment is basically directly attributable to his original work. A massive loss. At least he's in peace now. |

You know, for a second I thought you were talking about an Ironworker, I knew the name Gygax had something to with fantasy I just didn't remember it was the name in fantasy. At least he had a long, successful life.
