I'm at the point where I need to choose between the thieves and Bohdi and would like to know which is better. I assume Bohdi's quest will lead to killing a bunch of thieves and lowering my reputation and vice versa if I go with the Shadow Thieves.

Your answer is simple:

if you are good, go with the Shadow Thieves
if you are evil, go with Bodhi

(Tiny, tiny spoiler)
But you will get better items when you go with Bodhi.

Better items? I havent gotten a damn thing from Bodhi. Nobody will sell to me either. Damned snobbish vampire folk..

Take Bhodi's quest. you get the same amount of XP but later in the game you have to fight bhodi's guild anyways. You will get XP from the Shadow Thieves and Bhodi.

I took Booty quest, and all my charaters are good. You don't have to be evil to take her quest. OOPS did I say booty I ment Bohdi.

I did the vampires quests, since I was too weak at the time to fight them, and I still finished the game with a rep of 20.

Just wish Jaheira would shut up about balance though!!!

I took the shadow thives quest, it i good beasue i am a good charecter, if you are a evil character then go with bohdi

If you go with the Shadow Thieves, you can gain their help in Chapter 6. ;)
