;)

Yeah, I heard Sean Connery explain the difference between "the Scotch" and "the Scots" in The Presidio, but I never got the hang of the different nuances of Scots, Scotch, and Scottish. The dictionary says that "Scotch" is a contraction of "Scottish," which I did not know before. TL, what is an IW award? Congrats, I guess it is good news.

I reckon it started when I questioned the head of girl's PE as to why we actually NEEDED a kit to do PE. She must have whispered Bad Things into the head of the PE department, 'cause the very next week after that he became my PE teacher...
And I didn't have a kit...
Cos I lost my last one...
So my mum said "I ain't buying you any more"...
And I ain't wasting my cash on a PE kit either....
So I just sit thru the detentions and do my hwk in them instead...
Believe me, there are worse ways to spend an hour after school than watching the cutest boy in the school playing badminton....

EDITED to reply to Sig's post below: I can forge my own note, lol! She says it's my fault and I can suffer the consequences ;)

Surely your mom can write you a note requesting that you are not willing to participate in the lesson? Thats what a couple of guys that I know do.

It's the IronWorks Weekly Wonder Awards, Attalus, which I hope actually lives up to its name and occurs every week. ;) You can find it here:

OK, I checked it out. Yes, let us hope it is presented every week, until we can finally see how many people actually come to GD.
Antryg, very good news about your wife, hope she stays healthy.

Timber Loftis 02-17-2003 02:44 PM

Yes, Antryg, good news that is. (Howdya like my Yoda-speak)

No offense to the doctors on here (who would likely agree anyway), but nothing is worse that having your family split asunder with one in the hospital. Plus, it's been my experience that if one leaves the hospital as soon as they can, they heal better. I think it's just the sterility of the surrounding.

But, then again, I truly believe flourescent light is bad for the soul. ;)

It was the only hall my mate could hire for 40 hyperactive kids, rofl!

Timber, as a physician and surgeon, I try and get patients out of the hospital as quickly as possible, if they have a supportive family environment, as they do heal more quickly.
Night Stalker, I agree that we don't want to know. Isn't PVC polyvinyl chloride, the stuff they make pipes out of?

Kaltia,
Please ignore my American ignorance, but in regards to another one of your posts, what exactly is vegemite?

Thanks. I've heard of it, but I've never seen it, nor do I know what it is (or is it one of those things that one doesn't really want to know what it is?)
