Hi there........

My character is a Level 10 paladin and recently I joined the Order of the Most Radiant Heart (or whatever), and I was given the first task of helping out some knights in "the furthest reaches of Umar Hills". I assume they meant me to go rescue Mazzy from the ruined temple??? Anyway I think I took a bit longer than Mr. William would have liked and upon returning I was unceremoniously given the boot, for being too late to save them. BTW I did rescue Mazzy but didn't let her into my party since I was packed and suceeded in killing the shade lord and his pet....... so anyone know what's going on? Is there a way I can redeem myself and return to the order? I lost 2 rep points in the process.......

Any help appreciated.

You should try to keep the nights alive. After speaking with William Reirrac you get a new assignment. After that, go to the house right of the temple of Oghma at the docks and kill the assassins. Talk to Reirrac again and he restores you to the order if necessary. Then kill Firkraag.

Can you kill Firkraag before attempting the other missions?

You should kill Big Red only when specifically told to do so.
The knights you're supposed to save is *not* Mazzy, but another group that is specific only for the quest (ie if you've not been assigned the quest they will never appear).
Perhaps you have a save game to fall back on?

Hello, thanks for replying...

Ok, first of all Willian Reirrac won't talk to me anymore, he just tells me that he doesn't want to see me again, so getting anymore quests out of him would be futile at best I think. I might try killing the assasins at the docks and see if he has anything to say, but from whom do I get the quest? I hope not from him....

As for Firkaag the red, unfortunately I already killed him, on sight. I neglected the fact that I could do it later, I didn't know that would be a new quest on its own. After rescuing Garren's (I think that's his name) daughter, thought, why not finish the deed (i.e. kill firkragg), and managed to do it without much hassle... the Druid spells Magic Resistance and Harm do wonders b

Finally, I don't keep backup saved games unfortunately, all are current I'm afraid. So that would mean a new game from scratch? I'd hate to do that since I'm so far in the game? Will I miss out on anything important (story wise)? I'm still in chapter 2 but I've completed around 20 quests and the thought of redoing all of that makes me shudder..

I also wiped the area full of mind flayers in the city sewers without being told to do so, I stumbled across it by accident.... will this be a potential problem too?

Thanks.

In most cases, if you do something without being asked that is actually a quest from someone, so long as you keep any quest item you find if there is one (an eye, or blood, or a note for example, sometimes there isnt one) when you actually recieve the quest there will be a dialouge option like "I already did that" or something. Quests that are only meant to be done at a certain time will usually not appear until you have recieved the quest ie. the knights you are supposed to save will not be there to be saved until you have been told to save them. This has always been true in my experience, but may not always hold, since I have not seen all of the classes stronghold quests. However, in this case, since you failed to rescue the knights in a timely manner I believe the remaining Paladin Stronghold quests are forever closed to you unless you reload which you said you cant do. One other option might be to mess around with the global variables regarding the paladin stronghold, or William Reirrac in shadow keeper, but be careful if you try this, and first seek advice from one more experienced with such things than I. Hope this helps http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif (yaa! 100 posts baby! Time to steal a new face...)

OK, here's the story. If you go for the paladin stronghold quest you will go to the copper coronet and talk to Lord Jierdan Firekraag. He will assign you. Do this quest and after you have saved the child (and in your case killed Firekraag) you go to Sir Ryan Trawl. He'll give you an assignment to investigate a cult of Fallen Paladins

Go to the Bridge District, then on the south east side of your map, there is a group ready to fight (thieves and Fallen paladins). Help the fallen paladins and you'll have to get a cup from the Most Noble Order of the Radiant Heart. Talk to Ryan Trawl and get the cup. Then you will meet Anarg. Anarg will see through your scheme but his right hand (don't know his name at the moment) will not fight you. Kill the rest of the fallen paladins and Anarg and return with the cup to Ryan Trawl, you'll get the golves of healing.

After that you'll have to go to Sir Reirrac (if he's not there talk to the Prelate).......from this point I'll leave you one your own. If you still can't finish it, ask me again.
Hope it works.

Hi,

Thanks for replying, but I already finished those quests. The problem is, I was given the quest by William to save the knights somewhere in Umar Hills. However I deviated from that quest slightly, ignoring that fact that it was quite urgent, and proceeded to do some other quests that needed solving. Needless to say, it was only after 1 or 2 days after I received the quest that I actually went to Umar to help the knights. I couldn't find them anywhere on the map (nor in the runied temple) so I guess I was too late and thus failed the quest. I was asked to leave the Order upon returning, and every attempt by me to get back in has more or less failed.

I guess if Bioware didn't open too many quests in Chapter 2, I wouldn't have had this problem. There are simply too many to perform at the same time, some of them clashing with others when it comes to priority.

Well I guess I'm banned for life from the Order and I suppose I deserve it.... well being there wasn't actually thrilling since I can't even rest in the damn place, still have to find an inn. Perhaps I might try it again in a new game once I finish the game this time around..

Thanks for replying anyways.

I doubt you'll be missing much. From the suond of it you've already done far more quests than I bothered with my first time through the game http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

But I will advise that from now on you save the game from time to time and actually keep one fairly-back-in-past game to reload and retry when you hit a wall. I was playing like you, and got all the way to the very last bits of the game- and found myself *really* wishing I'd saved the game before agreeing to do a final quest...

All you have to do is go to the normal Umar Hills Map in three days, where the mayor lives and the Rangers hut is. Another paladin will meet you and escort you to fighting. After they are dead just head back to get your reward and the next mission.
