I was wonderin' what would be a good(as in effective) npc to go with the following evil party:

Korgan
Edwin
Viconia
Jan (not evil, but CN's ok to)

I was thinkin' perhaps another fighter-type.

Any great ideas??

That all depends on your character. Jan is a good backup mage and good as a thief, so you don't need either for a PC. Supposedly, having good cleric backup is adviseable, so if you were to play a ranger/cleric (though you have to be good) and that wouldn't work with this party. So maybe a neutral fighter/Cleric (you want to be able to turn undead, I think Vic can only charm them) would work, as for other evil NPCs there aren't that many in the game, I think you have them all listed right there. Maybe you wanna pick up Cernd, the druids have some pretty nifty spells...

Sorry, meant to say: what would be a good PC(!) to go with this party!!
My mistake...

Bt yeah StarVid, I think you're right. I might go with that Figther/Cleric thing. I've been reading some good things about a Berzerker/Cleric, might try that out for my self.

thnx guys!

Be a Druid http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif at least if you dare take the disadvatages for granted, for a fun character and a powerful one at specific parts
Else.. Cleric/Mage sounds interresting
Remember that if you buy the expension ToB you'll get a Evil NPC Specialist in 2 handed-Swords

ps.
you said good as in effective, these are normally players not willing to experiment with Druids and stuff
I would say
Berserker/Mage

Actually maybe you should tailor your party to your character rather than your character to your party. Your party you can change, your character you cannot. Besides, thats the default party for any evil character, so basically anything works. You've got a pure fighter, a pure mage and a pure cleric(the only ones in the game too), all of whom go perfectly with any evil party. Minsc and Imoen will not leave you, if you play it smart(Minsc hardly whined) so that's an extra fighter and thief/mage for you. Or you could use Yoshimo, he's a pretty good bet for evil parties.

For an all-evil party, you ought to be a Half-Orc Fighter/Thief, or a Half-Elf Fighter/Mage/Thief, or a Human Assassin or Bounty Hunter. Why? Because:

1) There are no evil thieves in the game!

2) You only need a half a thief, but more can be fun.

3) As an Evil party you'll have 1 pure Fighter, 1 kick-butt Mage and as much Cleric as you can possibly handle. In ToB you get another evil Fighter. Viconia is a decent fighter (can wear armor, can cast Holy Power) or an excellent slinger, so you don't have to be a fighter.

Or, for a mixed Evil and Neutral party, you could be a Priest of Helm (ditch Viconia; romance Jaheira), again an Assassin or Bounty Hunter, or, since you can take Jan and/or Yoshimo, you could be a Neutral Evil Sorceror or Wild Mage. Why? Because:

1) There are LOTS of fun options for Evil mages. The Mage Stronghold is fun if you are evil (and fun, but expensive, if you are good).

2) Neutral Evil is the only Evil which gives a decent Familiar---the other two have only 2/3 the normal HP!
3) Jan is a kick-butt thief and a fun backup mage. Imoen won't ever leave you, no matter how low your rep gets (or so I've heard; I tend to play goodie-goodies or not take her).

4) Haer'Dalis isn't anyone's favorite anything in SoA, but come ToB he really becomes valuable. He gets a Bard Song which rivals the Skald's and can set Spike Traps which rival the best Yoshimo ever could. He's a sleeper but will eventually haul more than his own weight.

Finally, for a challenge, be a human Neutral Evil Jester. You will need a thief: Yoshimo is a good bet, just dump him for Imoen when you rescue her. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Currently I am running an evil party with Imoen and let me tell you, from experience, that she will leave you if your rep is 2 or lower. My PC is an evil sorceror and between myself, Edwin, Haer Dalis and Imoen, we are quite a magical force to be reconed with.

Haer'dalis could be a good choice.
