Want to try something fresh..
I've been using ctmod and I want to change a few things.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...35017_edit.jpg ~ Is there a way to get rid of other people's portrait or add them at will when I need them? As shown in red. ~ Lots of mod like to put their minibutton at the blue coloured region in the map. Which mean if I want to access something I have to log out, disable the current mod and enable the mod I want to use. Then log into the game again to use the mod in game. ~Is there a way to resize omen box size? And umm...do you think my wow is kinda bland? As you can see lots of original wow feature is still in it. |

You can resize Omen - I figured it out a few weeks ago. Just pull the bottom right corner.
As for your party portraits, I know how to do it in X-perl, but not in CTMod. Geez you have a lot of space in your hotkeys mate. Mine are fully filled and I have to keep swapping things out: F1 - Bloodlust Brooch AP trinket F2 - Stealth F3 - Mount F4 - Kick F5 - PvP trinket (swap in haste pots for raid) F6 - Adrenaline Rush for raid, Prep for PvP F7 - Gouge F8 - Terokkar Tablet (AP trinket) F9 - Drums of Battle F10 - Flying Mount ' - SnD 1 - Attack 2 - SS for raid, Hemo for PvP 3 - Rupture 4 - Kidney shot for PvP, Feint for raid 5 - Exp Armour for PvP, Evi for raid 6 - Evi for PvP, Kidney Shot for raid (only for spell interrupts) 7 - Sprint 8 - Evasion 9 - Vanish 10 - Blind 11 - Bandage 12 - Heal Pot I also bound X and S to the stuff I most use as I turn with my mouse (I don't click on my hotbar) and strafe with Q and E particularly in PvP. X - Blade Flurry (raid) or Shadowstep (PvP) - in WotLK I bound Murder Spree to this S - CLoS Here's my interface (hotkeys were cut off) |

I'd recommend possibly redoing your hotbar UI with hotbuttons classic or something, as it makes a ton more room, but this is optional - I eventually went back to the old bars. Try "Scrolling combat text" to eliminate alot of the times when you need to look at your combat log, and you can also free up some space by axing your bag UI with Titan. Just my 2. |

wow original action bar - main attack abilities, interupter, seldom usage skill. second row from bottom bar - stealth abilities , escape abilities, super power abilities, trinkets, consumables that aid in combat, macros. right row - travel items, hp/mana consumables, quest items. left row - throw/range abilities, secondary profession. |
Re: Want to try something fresh..
Ok, I'm still using Ct mod but I've done some tweaking. Now it looks much much more spacious.
Q : Does xperl works with ctmod? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...84918_edit.jpg As you can see I'm still unable to find any mods to edit the party portrait. As shown in red. I purposely shown recount and omen to show where I put them. Normally they are not shown but when they do my screen still looks spacious. I also manage to resize them. But the black box is kinda distracting. I wonder if I can make them slightly transparent. In the meantime I help myself to download naturcombat castbar, auctioneer, mobinfo, gatherer, questhelper and atlas. |

Honestly, the most annoying problem I had in pvp (and also in other areas like raids or 5 man) was that my icon would be gone. Yeah that's right, my icon will be missing in a middle of a fight. I will be like "omg! my ss icon is missing!!" "where is my vanish icon?" Then just recently, more like few weeks ago (don't laugh). I've found out that I can actually lock my icons in their bars so that they won't move. Yeah after all these years of playing wow. |

I still think you need X-perl, as you can fit your party members energy bars into a much tighter and neater space, and even take off the portraits if you like (good for raids etc.). You can also dump castbar then, since X-perl has it's own. |
Re: Want to try something fresh..
I would definitely consider upgrading to X-Perl - it's so flexible.

Re: Want to try something fresh..
<font color="cyan">http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/1913/uizx3.jpgFirstly, get Xperl, not CTmod.
Look at Memmys UI with the portraits, look at mine. As he said, very flexible. I want my party in the top left, and myself in the bottom. Also, square mini map ftw. And look for a mod called floating buttons/detached buttons or something, lets you move all mini map buttons where you want. Shame its 4am, as this is an Old UI pic, I'd show you something newer/bit nicer. Btw you two, get a widescreen monitor, helps loads. And yes, I prefer standard Blizz icon bars over bartender :P Edit - Ignore me being 5th on damage, thats not normal :P It's BT, note no oil/food buff/flask :P We don't care in BT :D</font> |
Re: Want to try something fresh..
Lavi, I'm playing WoW on a 46" widescreen LCD on 1920x1080p with 2ms response time. I haven't looked back :D

Re: Want to try something fresh..
I've checked xperl, where is the option to get rid of party's portrait?
Ok, now the complaints. ~ I've to get rid of naturcastbar because it's too distracting. ~ Questhelper doesn't do anything much since I know where the quest objects/npcs are. I might get rid of it also. ~ All those tweaking I did for my rogues, it doesn't suits my warlock, my warrior and my bank alt. I've to log out, disable/enable some mods. Log in and had to spend some time tweaking again. ~ Since I'm a clicker, having to press F8 ~ F12 / shift B to open my bags is PITA. ~ Oh, just like the above, since I'm a clicker, having to press L , C , O etc etc to access my character screen is PITA. So much for trying something fresh ehh? :P |
Re: Want to try something fresh..
<font color="cyan">Sorry, I just meant Kakero, you can tell by his toolbar he's on around a 15" monitor.
Ok, cast bar - just remove it, then use Xperls built in one. You know where my name is on my portriat on my UI? or where it says Terron Gorefiend? thats where Xperl puts its castbar. Its imba. And partys portraits are in the party tab on Xperl.</font> |
Re: Want to try something fresh..
Ok, I've tweak around xperl's party option. As you can see, I've uncheck everything but you can still see the party's hp and mana.
I guess I'm stuck with having to deal with party members in my screen. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...408_192226.jpg Oh, I've also checked x perl's cast bar. I have to say, blizzard's castbar is much better. Since xperl's background is dark, you may not notice the enemy's cast bar. But blizzard's one is clear and easy to spot. Which mean xperl isn't much of a use to me. Although the 3d portrait does look nice... |
Re: Want to try something fresh..
You should be able to remove that party bar - I was able to do it. There's a setting somewhere, you may have to fiddle around with it a bit though.
|
Re: Want to try something fresh..
<font color="cyan">As far as i know mate, you have removed the party bar.
When you enter a party, no-one will show... It's just when you click xperl options, it shows where they WOULD be if turned on.</font> |

You can remove the party bars by unchecking the party tab. You can remove some party members by right clicking the tab with X-perl open, and clicking "close". You can add party portraits in 3d or 2d, take them off altogether, add percentages or numbers if you prefer, or even both. You can totally axe any party members appearing (is this what you want to do?) by simply unchecking "X-perl Party" in the "All" tab. The party interface won't appear. You can also change the color, texture, size and position of the castbar just like you can do with almost anything in X-perl. As for enabling and tweaking mods for different alts., your addons screen coupled with your mod settings/profiles does this, enabling some mods to not come on at all or to come on with different settings for different chars. |

Will try tweaking again when I got time. |
Re: Want to try something fresh..
Here we go, I've reloaded xperl and done some tweaking. I retain the party option. I've make the casting bar a bit transparent so it's easy to see.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...608_013909.jpg I also make omen transparent so it's not distracting during raids. Hmm.. I might wanna put the party more to the right side. |
Re: Want to try something fresh..
Nice mate, looks heaps better.

You don't really need percentages on party health + mana bars if you have numbers on, I usually use one or the other. Both of them at the same time is fine for mobs and bosses, but anywhere else is really for healer interests only. I'd move the interface a bit to the left , maybe even the right, and resize it at least 5 integers down. I'd also resize party buffs a little lower. All these things are mainly for raid settings, I am quite picky about reserving space and the things mentioned may not bother you if they remain. Me though, I like to have as much of a view as I can, while not skimping on essential info. |
Re: Want to try something fresh..
<font color="cyan">Make the party bars smaller.
Remove party buffs, you don't need to see them. Move the party bars to the left. I suggest putting your portrait just to the right of the chat box, Like I did on my screenie, then move omen to the bottom right corner. Should free up some space.</font> |
