We killed M'uru/Entropius!!!!

Got him on the last attempt of the night, after a few 6-7% attempts early on. It was very close, we ended up with him dead with 2 people left alive...

Only Kil'jaden is left in our way now, before we have fully cleared The Burning Crusade Expansion!

Gratz mate, that's awesome! How many tries before you downed him?

Lavindathar 09-02-2008 07:49 PM

Re: OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

Well, if you check the WWS logs you can see tonight we made like 16 attempts I think.

Over the course of the last 3 months, we were averaging 30 a night, but tonight we got to P2 almost every time.

I'd say close to 500?

But he's down now, shame the loot sucked so much! For me anyway :p

We got :

500 tries? Your guildmates are very very very patience.

Doing gruul for 2 days (6 tries) of wipe and people don't want to turn up or quit guild already. :D

Lavindathar 09-02-2008 09:33 PM

Re: OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

It's quite possibly more than 500. 1000? I dunno.

How can you only get like 6 tries in 2 days? :O

When we first started M'uru, and were wiping after 1minute, we'd do 40-50-60-70 tries a night.

Now we have got the fight down, and each attempt takes 5-10mins, we are down to 20 or so.

And we have the best players on the realm...we've now downed M'uru, our closest Horde rival is still on Felmyst.... So we are 3 bosses ahead.

So with being the best on the realm, we get the best players etc.

Casuals, they complain about everything, they got so many excuse for everything, they refuse to make a push, they refuse to make a commitment. But you can't do anything about it.

Casuals complain about hard bosses even after 1 wipe.
"Omg! The boss is hard! I'm off guys"

Casuals need to log off for babies, movies and other type of excuses.
"Guys I need to go, there's a good movie on tv."

Casuals get very angry if you try to correct their way of playing.
"Stop trying to be bossy to me! It's just a game"

Casuals complain about repair bill.
"Wtf! 12g of repair bill? I quit!!"

Yes, I'm stuck in a casual guild. Due to my time zone (+8gmt). There's nothing I can do about it.

There's no Asian server on USWoW

Lavindathar 09-02-2008 10:47 PM

Re: OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

Ah you play US...makes sense I guess...I guess you started playing before China released.

If I was you, go on the realm forums of loads of forums, one will have a realm with lots of asians on there, that started before asian realms were released.

Like In Europe we have English speakers, but we all know which servers the Poles/Italians/Hungarians/Russians etc play on, as they dont have their own realm (altho Russia do now).

So just find out which realm is mostly asian, there timezones will match!

Kakero 09-02-2008 11:40 PM

Re: OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

If it was that easy, I would be raiding swp by now.

First thing first, asians love to play the horde. Just ask Dundee. ;) Which makes it hard to find asians that play alliance.

Second, I hate pvp. Most asians love pvp and are in pvp server. So that makes my target even lesser.

Third, if you do found an alliance pve asian guild. It's either a casual guild or raid too early. a +8gmt guild that raids at 8pm local time? Wtf?

*sigh*

Yes, I'm stuck in a casual guild. Due to my time zone (+8gmt). There's nothing I can do about it.

Kakero, those statements are all the signs of a balanced person with their priorities in order. And you bet they need to log off for a baby!

The problem is a money-making game design that pushes players into addictively attempting a single accomplishment 1000 times, not that so-called casuals actually get their life priorities in order.

Let's get some perspective here.

It IS only a game bro.

I don't think I'm in a hardcore raiding guild, but it's not like we force people to go if they don't want to go. That's why I'm enjoying it, there's no pressure on me if I can't make the raid (other than what I set for myself to gear up). We don't have people who quit in the middle of the raid because the boss is too hard or if they have to repair too much, and they generally accept the advice of our GM.

But I wouldn't say we're hardcore at all - we raid everyday two or three hours max, sometimes less sometimes more depending on the raid. Nobody forces anyone to go if they don't want to. We use the EPGP system so people who don't go will miss out on GP anyway which affects their priority rating for loot. If we can't complete something one day we do it another day before it resets. We're progressing but we're not trying to be world or server firsts or anything like that. It suits me and my schedule perfectly. :)

You are lucky to have find a good guild in the first try.

In all my 3 years of wow life (from daggerspine to medivh to kirin tor and to dath remar), I've been stuck with guilds that couldn't do anything because of people and their whatever reasons.

For once, just for once I want to be in a guild that really concentrate on progression and beat the end game content. Is that too much to ask?

How I wish Blizzard would make a SEA wow server. *sigh*

Well, I've been in guilds like Mems, and as time passed I wanted to get better and better.

In the end, I managed to get into the best guild on the server. When we raid, we are very serious etc, but outside of raids its just good fun.

I chose to raid how I do, with time constraints etc, we have plenty of hangarounds in the guild that dont raid at all.

No-one is forced to do anything =D

Also, I don't raid every single day obviously - there are 3 raid leaders who run separate raids. So each of us probably raids 3-4 times a week and not on weekends when people have their own shit to do. From talking to them in vent, many of our members are actually 20+, with a few older people who have their families and stuff.

Plus I've found we're patient with no-shows and people who have to leave for RL reasons as long as they are genuine. RL always comes first!

Well, I've followed Lav's advice and apply to 2 guilds that are a +8gmt raiding guild. One flatly ignored me (a t6 raiding guild) and the other (a t5/t6 raiding guild but is in mid of rebuidling themselves) invited me as soon as I come knocking the door.

I found out about the 2 guild by staring at the annoying trade chat for some time. Imagine that.

This is exactly the problem with raiding, laziness and lack of dedication. Raiding is hard. Sometimes you even have to not stand in the fire. It takes work to coordinate all this not standing in the fire, and patience to allow 24 other retards to learn as well.

BTW what's with this upstart rogue impinging on my intellectual property rights to the name Ingafel?

Don't be too happy yet. The guild had a major drama which forced many people to either quit the game or switch to other guilds. So right now it's in rebuilding stage and have no raid leader at the moment.

The guild is up to 5/6 ssc 1/4 tk 2/5 mh before the drama. At least that is better than my last casual guild who had to pug for their kara.

I've been up to VR. No T5 items to show for it because of the extreme dkp (more like officer get items first). Oh, this was not with the casual guild, this was with another raid guild.

Swiftstrike shoulder is better, which is one of the reason I would consider switching from herbalism to leatherworking.

However, you should still get the T5 shoulder just in case you got 3 other T5 items for the 4 piece T5 set bonus.

Also, if you are looking to join a T6 raiding guild, They'll be looking to see whether you have any T5 items on you. Crafted/badge items don't count. :P
