Its that time of year again !!!

After a frantic summer of transfer gossip with Man City getting taken over, with Henry leaving the Gunners, will Frank Lumplard ever go on a diet ?????????, its time to start thinking about who you are going to choose from the pick of the crop and select your team for the forthcoming season.

Its so simple, even I can use it !!!!!

1. Click on the link below.
http://fantasy.premierleague.com/index.html

2. Register your team – username and password are required, plus other details

3. Choose your team name and kit colours

4. Choose your team – remember you only have £100 Million – so choose carefully, maximum of 3 teams from any one team, bearing in mind that some players may yet still move to another club. All transfers before the first game of the season are free, so you can change your team as many times as you like, or add another new signing etc.

5. Once Registered please click on “League” – join league. The code you’ll need to enter to join the mini league is 336413-67668, the league name is IW Trophy.

6. Teams have to be registered by 11.30am on the 1st August, after that your teams start scoring points, and what do points make ?

May the best team win !! – Rules are enclosed on the link, so if you’re not sure about scoring, transfers, etc its all on there !

Oh I'll have to take part in this!

Ivelliis 07-20-2007 10:15 AM

Right, I'm signed up. Norfolk and Chance is the name, winning is the game ;)

dplax 07-20-2007 10:18 AM

Seems fun...guess the team name...

Target 07-20-2007 10:30 AM

My aim is not to come last!!

Madman-Rogovich 07-20-2007 06:23 PM

Northeast Beasts FTW! Time to set about writing chants sorting out firms etc. :D Just a shame the SPL isnt included, probably would'nt be fair on other teams tho if players from The mighty AFC were available for selection

Kazilan 07-20-2007 07:30 PM

Hmm.. where's Tom Brady? Or Peyton Manning? They're good for solid points each week - or LT? What kind of crazy fantasy football league is this?

Madman-Rogovich 07-20-2007 07:55 PM

Are you serious?

Bungleau 07-20-2007 11:28 PM

That's what happens when you let a bunch of non-North Americans talk about football... they get the rest of us confused ;)

Felix The Assassin 07-20-2007 11:54 PM

<font color=8fbc8f>Where is Steve Smith, he's good for quite a few receptions and a TD on occasion, a solid weekly performer. And defense wise, where are the Ravens?</font>

Ivelliis 07-21-2007 04:53 AM

After clashes with another team in a different league, I've conceded and had to change my name

*grins sheepishly at his childishness*

Target 07-21-2007 04:57 AM

Do these so called ravens play in the Premier League? I must have missed them all these years! :D

Balintherlas 07-21-2007 11:02 AM

Too bad we don't have any North American football fanatics to start a fantasy league.

ZFR 07-21-2007 11:21 AM

So let me get this straight. You make a team from the players in the premier league, and then you score points depending how the your people fare in real life matches... is that how this works?

Ivelliis 07-21-2007 12:34 PM

Pretty much.

Here's what the rules section said. Cut out some bits, but this is the basic idea of it.
Action Points
For playing in a game 1
For playing at least 60 minutes in a game (includes playing points mentioned above) 2
For each goal scored by your goalkeeper or defenders 6
For each goal scored by your midfielders 5
For each goal scored by your forwards 4
For each goal assist 3
For your goalkeeper / defender conceding 0 goals (must also play at least 60 minutes) 4

Bonus points are awarded within 1 hour of the last match of the day finishing.
For your midfielder conceding 0 goals (must also play at least 60 minutes) 1
For every 3 shot saves made by your goalkeeper 1
For every penalty save 5
For every penalty miss -2
Bonus points for the best players in a match 1-3
For every 2 goals conceded by your goalkeeper or defenders -1
For every yellow card -1
For every red card (includes any yellow card points) -3

ZFR 07-21-2007 02:18 PM

So is any action from my part required? After I make up my team, decide who plays and who's substitute, can I just sit back and observe the results? Or do I have to login after each week's matches?

Balintherlas 07-21-2007 03:10 PM

You can make trades and stuff, plus you hav to decide what players u want starting for u each game.

Ivelliis 07-21-2007 06:08 PM

And a captain (gets double points) so basically, your goal machines/super keepers, etc.

Yes you can make transfers, but remember some players may go up in value if they have a storming few games.

<font color=8fbc8f>Well man, get off your duff and get it started. How can we have the 2nd annual Ironworks fantasy football league if we don't have a "commish"?

I have exactly two slots left available; One at Yahoo, and One at Fox, I will no longer play at the ESPN site. Yahoo shows previous awards and trophy's, so if you don't want to see how well your league members have performed in the past, may I recommend Fox?

My platter is full, but I'm willing to play and possibly assist. But have zero time to run another, really.</font>
