And who does it LOL? I only heard of this today, had no idea people are really so addicted to MMORGs that they are like that SouthPark video and crapping in socks and stuff LOL!

For those that haven't heard of "Poopsocking" before, here is the Wikipedia description:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catassing

And apparently, it is true, some people are that sad and pathetic. I found this one site in particular with a Poopsocking post. Scroll down a wee bit to Commander Apaul's post #15:

Ladyzekke 07-05-2007 09:29 PM

I'm not sure if you can, but i definitely made someone throw away it's contents just in case once. :D

Oh....and a jar of sunblock too.

Papa Schlumpf 07-06-2007 08:41 AM

Now if only I could unhear it...

Klorox 07-06-2007 11:29 AM

I don't think anyone who poopsocks it will ever meet a girl to give a dirty anchez to or recieve a cleveland steamer.

At least he's got a chance to give himself the dutch oven.

Man... the stuff you can learn on Wikipedia...

I'll never hear that ZZ Top song the same way again... ;)

Cloudbringer 07-06-2007 06:16 PM

Ok, there are some things I just didn't want to know...

Uh.. as for the original post... LadyZ, kind of makes you wonder about people that addicted to a game, eh? I mean come ON, take a few minutes to eat or use the bathroom and for goodness sakes, get some sleep now and then and change your underwear....

And if you have to stay glued to your pc for some bizarre reason....at least use a camping toilet!

Balintherlas 07-06-2007 10:34 PM

Good Lord, how could you be so pathetic? You, I generally don't like making fun of people for spite, but if I ever met someone who poopsocked or did anything like that, I'd rip on them til they cried. Question though, on the first link, it mentions someone named Dundee, any relation to Slaytern?

Ladyzekke 07-07-2007 12:12 AM

Well the thing is (and I've never played a MMORG before), don't those online games have towns where you can put your character and it is safe in the town for everyone? So the way I see it, you just hit the town for breaks for eating, and stuff LOL. So why would you ever be put in some situation where you couldn't even take 3 minutes to hit the bathroom?

andrewas 07-07-2007 06:40 AM

Because getting back to town takes time which isnt spent grinding, and for these people, getting to the next level is the sole aim of the game. This makes them even more sad - not only do they have no social life, or any life at all in the worst cases, but they dont even get the point of the game, which is to have fun.

Cloudbringer 07-07-2007 10:18 AM

Hear Hear! Very good point, andrewas!

LadyZ, I think his answer is probably the reason they don't use the safe zones. And that really is sad, I mean to be addicted to just getting another level and another and another...? What kind of fun is there in that? Blah..

johnny 07-07-2007 10:45 AM

Hey...don't act so suspicious....some people just like to poop in a sock, why is that so hard to understand?

Stratos 07-07-2007 11:08 AM

No doubt poopsockers exist out there.

Bumbus 07-10-2007 05:37 AM

This is rather amusing, but honestly if someone really is that far gone from reality they should really consider professional help. By this point these people have an addiction and it is mostly likely causing health and social problems.

Klorox 07-10-2007 08:40 AM

That's the point, bumbus... they prefer this world to reality.

Cloudbringer 07-10-2007 06:23 PM

Yup! I know a guy (someone my husband used to be friends with several years ago) who has a wife and three kids but hasn't had a steady job ...ever.. has a new scheme practically every week (designed to 'make a fast buck' and keep him online as much as possible) and is in his mid thirties.

Guess what he prefers to do all the time? When he can't get his D&D or other roleplaying group together, he's online all the time playing a MMORPG or doing online rp's in a number of forums including a kiddie themed game, most of which he drops for yet another and another.... He doesn't want to live in the 'real world' except to find out about the latest gadgets for his pc or games. It's a major escape from reality for him so why face problems when you can face imaginary dragons and come out the 'top gun' every time?

Don't think he's as bad as the 'poopsocker' crowd but probably not far off if his wife ever got sensible and left...

I know we've all talked about this before, the whole addiction thing, that is. And I'm as happy to have a temporary 'escape' from the day's problems as anyone, but I think the key there is 'temporary'. Some of these guys take it to the extreme of all the time or as often and long as possible...thus the disgusting option of poopsocking that most of us wouldn't ever dream of, let alone do.... blech!

Ladyzekke 07-10-2007 10:13 PM

Yep, I'm a gamer myself but I will never let myself get to any poopsock "level" LOL. Or to where I'm buying fake game money with my own real money on Ebay LOL. Ah the madness, the madness I tell ya!

Johnny, I get some weird impression with your poopsocking defense that you may be thinking of trying it yourself? :D

Cloudbringer 07-12-2007 08:32 AM

*snicker* Johnny must be sleeping or something? :D Hope he's at least washing his socks! :D :D
