I believe Chewbacca does... Congrats on coming in third! That's impressive for your first tournament!

Yeah I play a little bit of online poker, not for a while now. Another tornament coming up either tomorrow night or thursday, hopefully I will be able to get there.

Hey, not bad there Shadowhound.
I enjoy taking all of my friends' money when we play 5 card stud. (well, sometimes. ) After watching a series called Tilt on Foxtel i sorta got interested in THM, but it didn't seem to catch on.

Yeah I play it every couple of weeks with my mates. Good thing is that no matter who wins the money from the win goes to buying the drinks for the next gaming night so it works our well.

That's probably the most appropriate typo ever...

Me and Gemmel play quite a bit, I wonder tho if there'd be a way to setup an IW game online? :D

Play money of course ;)

shadowhound 07-25-2006 07:58 PM

Dont know, but it would be fun if we could :D

Illumina Drathiran'ar 07-25-2006 08:23 PM

Very nice! I enjoy card games of all sorts, and poker is by no means an exception. Hold 'em would have to take second to seven card stud, but it's nice to play every now and then to shake things up.

DragonSlayer25 07-25-2006 08:48 PM

I'd be up to and IW tourney, if anyone got the gumption to set it up.

shadowhound 07-25-2006 09:06 PM

Well the thing would be:
A) Finding a online pokergame we all agree on
B) Setting a time and Date that would work for everyone.

Chewbacca 07-26-2006 12:04 AM

Hey man congrats!

I love to play NL HE, on-line usually at pokerstars. I also have a weekly homegame with friends. We play for 2 buck each, so it's less a competiton than an excuse to get drunk. :D

Although I prefer playing for real money, I'd play in an fake-money IW tourney. I'll look into what it takes to set one up at PSTARS.

There is nothing I hate more in life than Texas Hold'em. The ammount of spam and web adds for this beat any other kind I've gotten in years. How to be a champion, odds calculators, play for free, free training, win money... I'm bombarded with it. What's the sudden obsession with it all over the net?

I HATE Texas Hold'em, even just the name of it piss me off now.

Dont let the stupid spam ruin it for you Luvian, nothing like sitting around the table with your mates, having a few (quite a few) drinks, and playing some poker :D

Harkoliar 07-26-2006 02:19 AM

if anyone is holding a tourney.. Im in :D .

Well, it seems I don't have enough frequent player points left to host a private tourney at PStars.

I spent a ton of them entering satellite tourneys trying to win a seat at the World Series of Poker and now I am short. At the rate I play, in a few weeks I'll probably have enough to host one, if nothing else comes up.

You can blame the internet itself. Internet poker has allowed just about anyone to score a inexpensive chance at the WSOP. Several years in a row now some no-name internet qualifier has won the millions.

Also, the use of hole-card cameras have made poker an appealing spectator sport on TV.

Poker ads are far superior to viagra or anti-spyware ads. Not to mention the "win a free video game system" ads. All those ads piss me off to no end.

Mack_Attack 07-26-2006 05:21 PM

I would love to get in on a tourny.

I just play on-line but it tends to be to easy. ;)

Chewbacca 07-28-2006 07:54 PM

On a more serious and related note... Are any of you fellow American players aware the House passed leglislation recently to ban most internet gambling, including internet poker?

It is now supposedly stalled in the Senate, it seems the billion dollar gambling industry woke up and started using some political clout.

I'm inclined to believe I have some sort of right to gamble.

In the first place ,I am hard-pressed to confine poker only to the realm of gambling. I see it from a perspective of game theory. It is like chess, only an equal element of chance is involved and you can't see your opponent's pieces. Anyway this is way over-simplified.

My point being is there is more to poker than just gambling, while poker would not be poker without it.

And on a yet another related note, I understand online gambling has been banned in Australia for some time now, but this ban is not enforced.

I can only hope our Big Brother/Mommy & Daddy-government hands us a paper tiger like that when the day comes.
